Stooodents is made by Saif Ali, a solo independent developer. This policy explains exactly what the Stooodents iPhone and iPad app collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

Username. You pick this during setup. It is visible to other people who study with you — on their leaderboard and above your character. Don't use your full legal name if you'd rather not be identifiable.
Date of birth. Collected once during setup and used to confirm you are old enough to use Stooodents. We store the date so we don't have to ask again.
Setup answers. Why you want to use the app, what you're studying for, and which subjects you study. These are used to understand who our users are and to shape what we build next.
Your character. The colour you choose and the hats, glasses and desk items you equip.
Study sessions. When a session starts and ends, how long it lasted, which room it happened in, and the coins it earned.
Streaks and totals. Your current streak, your longest streak, the date you last studied, and your total minutes studied.
Friends and social activity. Who you are friends with, the rooms you join, the invite codes you generate or enter, and anyone you have blocked.
Coins. Your balance and a record of every coin movement — earned, spent, or taken by a paperball — including paperballs thrown at you and by you.
Time zone. Read from your device so streaks roll over at midnight where you actually are, rather than somewhere else in the world.
We use Mixpanel for product analytics. When you use Stooodents, Mixpanel receives a record of in-app events — screens reached, buttons tapped, sessions started and ended, items purchased — tied to your account identifier. Mixpanel also automatically collects standard technical information including your device model, operating system version, app version, and an approximate location (city or region level) derived from your IP address. We do not use Mixpanel to collect precise location, contacts, photos, or anything you type.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we never sell it.
Your username, character appearance, streak, and study time are visible to people you are friends with, and to people in a study room with you. That is the point of the app. Nothing else in this policy is shown to other users — not your date of birth, not your setup answers, not your coin history.
We share data with two service providers, and no one else:

Both act as processors on our behalf and are bound by their own agreements. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the safety of our users.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Our providers process and store data on servers that may be outside your country, including in the United States. By using Stooodents you understand your information may be transferred and processed there.
We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, it is erased as described below. Analytics events already recorded in Mixpanel may persist in aggregated form that is no longer linked to you.
Open Settings (the gear icon on the home screen) and tap Delete account.
This is a real deletion, not a deactivation. It permanently removes your profile, username, date of birth, setup answers, character and items, coins and coin history, study sessions, streaks, friendships, blocks, and your sign-in record. It cannot be undone and we cannot recover it afterwards.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your information, to object to or restrict how it is used, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent. Account deletion is available immediately in the app. For anything else, email saifalibss@gmail.com and we will respond as quickly as we can.
If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases for processing are: performing our contract with you (running the app), your consent (notifications), and our legitimate interests (understanding usage and improving the app).
If you are in California, we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Stooodents is not intended for children under 13, and we ask for your date of birth during setup to enforce that. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email saifalibss@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
Stooodents can send you a reminder to keep your streak alive. These are local notifications scheduled on your device — the reminder does not travel through our servers. You'll be asked for permission first, and you can turn them off at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Our database enforces row-level security so that one user cannot read or modify another user's records, and all coin and purchase operations run server-side so balances cannot be edited from a device. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app.
